Sensory Fundraiser Equipment In Action!

In 2023, we raised $20,000 for our schools to help them purchase sensory equipment for their classrooms. Each school was allowed to decide what to spend this money on as each schools needs varied. Items were purchased over the summer and put into classrooms in September for students to use. We greatly appreciate the teachers and school staff who took some time to send us photos of the items they purchased!

Ventura Park elementary school purchased alternative seating for students. Bean bag chairs and the blue square chair have really been enjoyed by the students! The bean bag chairs are in every classroom for their peace corners.

Menlo Park Elementary bought noise cancelling headphones, sit and move cushions, weighted lap pillows, cube chairs and rocking chairs. These items are being used in classrooms for students needing supports based on their IEPs, classroom teacher recommendations or parent requests. Extra are stored in a central location for all teachers to access when the need arises.

Gilbert Heights Elementary purchased balance stones to assist in regulating, providing sensory input and increasing focus.

They also purchases liquid sensory mats, a trampoline and spinner stools to support regulation and calming strategies.

The breathing station they created has tools to assist with mindfulness, focus and regulating breathing.

Gilbert Heights Elementary also purchased a swing that assists with regulating, providing sensory input and proprioceptive input.
