Donna Barber

David Douglas School Board Liaison

Donna, a lifelong champion of children and education, began serving on the Foundation Board in the fall of 2021. 

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Temple University, a Master of Science in Education from Georgia State and has served as an educator, administrator, trainer and coach for urban youth and program leaders for more than 30 years.

Donna and her family moved into the David Douglas school district in 2013. In 2018 she began serving as a board member and then Vice Chair of the David Douglas School Board and on the Regional and District Equity committees.

Currently, Donna is a published author and speaker, the Executive Director of The Voices Project - a national non-profit that works to train and promote leaders of color - and Acting President of The Voices School. She joined the board of the David Douglas Educational Foundation to creatively further the important work of bringing resource and equitable opportunities to the district’s children.
