DDEF Gives First Round of Donations to District Food Banks

Thanks to our amazing donors, we have made excellent progress on our COVID-19 fundraiser to help support families in David Douglas and we’re 2/3 of the way to our goal of $10,000 after the first two weeks. To ensure donations began impacting families as soon as possible, we matched all donations made by May 17th and issued four separate checks to our current food banks in the district for a total of $12,450!

School district staff are working hard every week to distribute food boxes to families in need at our four different pick-up sites: David Douglas High School, Cherry Park Elementary, Gilbert Park Elementary and Mill Park Elementary. Many days they run out of food boxes before all families can be served and they are forced to turn people away. Please consider donating even $10 to continue to help us reach our goal and make as big of an impact to families in David Douglas as possible!
